Empowering Women in Tech: Wildix for Comms Dealer
Wildix has long been proactive in addressing gender disparities, hosting networking events and maintaining a blog that highlights female role models in the tech world. Speaking about the importance of representation, Kellie Barrett, Office Manager and HR Admin Assistant at Wildix, remarked: “We know the importance of creating more visibility and networking opportunities for women in technology and the broader industry. More discussions between organisations need to be happening.”
We now have 21 women in management positions and recently welcomed two female leaders to our C-suite team. However, we recognise the importance of revising job descriptions to ensure they are inclusive and attract a broader, more diverse range of candidates.

Wildix is dedicated to creating accessible pathways into tech roles by removing restrictive requirements and promoting skill development opportunities.
In addition to recruitment, Wildix is tackling workplace challenges through practical measures, such as providing tailored workwear and enhancing facilities to meet the needs of female employees. The company also recognises the importance of addressing unconscious bias and cultivating a supportive workplace culture. As Barrett noted: “Being in a male-dominated industry feeds into a lack of visibility of leadership opportunities. To counter this, the most significant tools in my experience have been self-advocacy and continuous learning.”
Mentorship and professional networking play an equally vital role in Wildix’s strategy. Sharing her own journey, Barrett added: “Joining professional networks and learning from other women in the industry can be empowering. I’ve been lucky enough to have a strong female mentor at Wildix who has helped me build more confidence and advance my career. But if those role models don’t exist within your network, then seek them from other industry companies. They’d be more than happy to talk and give advice.”
The Comms Dealer interview highlighted Wildix’s leadership in driving meaningful change within the technology sector. By fostering collaboration, refining recruitment practices, and championing mentorship, Wildix continues to set a high standard for diversity and inclusion. Its ongoing efforts not only address current disparities but also inspire the next generation of women to pursue impactful careers in technology.
