Power Supply Installation Warnings
- The power supply must be placed indoors.
- Compliance is required with respect to voltage, and current requirements indicated on the manufacturer’s label. Connection to a different power source than those specified may result in improper operation, damage to the equipment or pose a fire hazard if the limitations are not followed.
- Wildix products must PoE must be connected to a power-over-ethernet (PoE) IEEE 802.3af compliant power source or an IEC60950 compliant limited power source.
- Wildix product rely on the building’s installation for short-circuit (over-current) protection. Ensure that the protective device is rated not greater than: 120 VAC, 15A U.S. (240 VAC, 10A international)
- Do not connect or disconnect cables during periods of lightning activity. We recommend the instalment of an AC surge arrester in the AC outlet to which this device is connected to avoid damage to the equipment caused by local strikes of lightning or other electrical surges.
- The plug-socket combination must be accessible at all times, because it serves as the main disconnecting device.
- To avoid electric shock, do not connect safety extra-low voltage (SELV) circuits to telephone-network voltage (TNV) circuits. LAN ports contain SELV circuits, and WAN ports contain TNV circuits. Some LAN and WAN ports both use RJ-45 connectors. Use caution when connecting cables.
- Voltages that present a shock hazard may exist on Power over Ethernet (PoE) circuits if interconnections are made using uninsulated exposed metal contacts, conductors, or terminals. Avoid using such interconnection methods, unless the exposed metal parts are located within a restricted access location and users and service people who are authorized within the restricted access location are made aware of the hazard. A restricted access area can be accessed only through the use of a special tool, lock and key or other means of security.
- Installation of the equipment must comply with local and national electrical codes.
- Only use the Wildix specified power supply. Check the datasheet of the product published at Wildix Documentation for details.
- Adequate earth grounding connection of Wildix devices is mandatory to avoid any damage or injuries.

Use Wildix radio devices only in its normal operating positions. Do not place credit cards or other magnetic storage media near the device, because information stored on them may be erased.
Interaction with medical devices
Medical devices might be adversely affected. Please consider the technical ramifications when installing Wildix radio devices in a doctor‘s office, for example. Operation of any equipment emitting radio frequency signals may interfere with the functionality of inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device to determine if they are adequately shielded from external radio frequency (RF) energy or if you have any other questions concerning this topic. Switch off your device in health care facilities when signs posted in these areas instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be sensitive to external RF energy.
W-AIR DECT and medical devices
The low transmit power level generally permits operation of DECT handsets/ headsets in all environments; the exception being within a few feet of EKG, EEG, pulse oximetry, or similarly sensitive equipment typically found in certain areas of hospitals or medical offices. The general rule about electromagnetic compatibility for Wildix DECT handsets/ headsets is that units can be used wherever cellular phones can be used, and will be less of an electromagnetic compatibility challenge than a cellular phone because of the very much lower transmit signal level.
Implanted medical devices
Manufacturers of medical devices recommend that a minimum distance should be maintained between a radio device and an implanted medical device, such as pacemakers or cardioverter defibrillators, to avoid potential interference with the medical device. Persons who have such devices should:
- always keep the radio device more than 100 centimeters / 39 inches from the medical device when the wireless device is turned on,
- not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket,
- turn the radio device off immediately if there is any reason to suspect that interference is taking place,
- read and follow the directions of the medical device‘s manufacturer.
If you have any questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.
If you have an implanted pacemaker:
- Do not use if you have an implanted pacemaker unless the pacemaker manufacturer‘s directions expressly permit the use of devices emitting pulsating radio frequency signals. Always follow the manufacturer‘s directions!
- FOR THE USA: Do not use if you have a pacemaker.
Sensitive Electronic Equipment
The current state of research concludes that operational Wildix radio devices normally do not adversely affect electronic equipment. Nevertheless, you should take some precautions if you want to operate Wildix radio devices in the immediate vicinity of such equipment like sensitive laboratory equipment. Always keep a minimum distance of 10cm / 3.94“ to the equipment even when the radio device is in standby.
Maximum transmission power
Max. transmission power of Wildix W-AIR-series radio devices: EU: 250mW (24.0dBm); US: 100mW (20.0dBm).
Chargers with attached power supply, rechargeable batteries
- Use only the power converter (AC/DC adapter) delivered with the device or a power supply explicitly recommended by Wildix.
- The full performance of a new battery is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles. The batteries can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but they will eventually wear out.
- If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time. If the batteries are completely discharged, it may take a few minutes before the charging indicator appears on the display.
- Use the batteries only for their intended purpose. Do not short-circuit the batteries. Short-circuiting the terminals may damage the battery or the connecting object. Do not use a damaged charger or battery. Using a damaged battery may cause it to explode.
- Do not place or store the batteries, inside or outside a Wildix device, in the immediate vicinity of open fire or other heat sources.
- Leaving the batteries in hot or cold places will reduce their capacity and lifetime. Charge batteries within an ambient temperature range of +5° C to +45° C / 41° F to 113° F. A device with a hot or cold batteries may not work temporarily, even when the batteries are fully charged.
- Avoid overcharging. Repeated overcharging can lead to deterioration in battery performance. Never attempt charging a battery with reversed polarity as this may cause the gas pressure inside the battery to rise and lead to leakages.
- Remove the batteries if storing phone for more than 1 month.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place without corrosive gases. Temperature range for storage up to 6 months: charge batteries to 30% to 70% of their capacity and store at -20° C to 35° C (-4° F to 95° F). Relative humidity approx. 50%.
